Polis Massa

Astrographical
Region: Wild Space
Sector: Subterrel Sector

Physical
Primary terrain: Barren (formerly desert)

Polis Massa was once an arid, barren planetoid and the origin of a colony of resulting asteroids. It was originally the homeworld of the little-known Eellayin civilization, who dwelt in underground cities such as Wiyentaah, but the world was fractured by a mysterious cataclysm. This natural disaster formed a field of asteroids which remained known as Polis Massa, especially the largest of them. The Eellayin civilization disappeared.

EARLY HISTORY AND GEOGRAPHY
About 519 BBY, the Kallidahin from Kallidah, another world in Subterrel Sector, abandoned their homeworld and under the leadership of the Archaeological Research Council of Kallidah settled Polis Massa Base. They sought to prove the Eellayin were the ancestors of the Kallidahin through cloning tissue samples recovered in their digs. The most important find was the lost city of Wiyentaah (not far from the Research Base), discovered in 59 BBY. They began an archaeological mining project on this planetoid, to uncover the mysteries of the cataclysm and the native species it destroyed. The Local Dig was established over Wiyentaah. Such was the length of this project, the Kallidahin became known as Polis Massans themselves.
Excavations on the largest Polis Massa asteroids uncovered many prize artifacts, mostly from deep within the planetoid. The Polis Massans analyzed these artifacts for organic tissue suitable for
cloning. Though the aliens frequented the Subterrel Sector, they had little contact with the Galaxy and as a whole, the Polis Massa outpost remained remote and hidden.
The gravitational pull on the rocky colony was just strong enough to be harmful to those who walked the surface without the proper equipment or protection. However, the facilities built on the asteroids were especially gravity-controlled inside and so suitable for living in.

OLD REPUBLIC ERA
Polis Massa was technically a loyal part of the
Galactic Republic and friendly to the Jedi. Far from any major trade route, the remote settlement served as an emergency sanctuary for the Jedi after Order 66, during the rise of the Empire and Palpatine's Great Jedi Purge. The colony also housed the medical facilities in which Padmé Amidala Skywalker gave birth to the twins Luke and Leia, and subsequently died because she lost the will to live, mostly due to a broken heart stemming from the realization that her husband Anakin Skywalker had lost his soul to the dark side. It was here that Bail Organa chose to adopt Leia into his family. When Yoda arrived on the planet with Bail, he was visited by the specter of Qui-Gon Jinn who offered to tutor Obi-Wan Kenobi in the art of surviving one's death with the consciousness still intact.

IMPERIAL ERA
Not long after the formation of the Galactic Empire, the Inquisitors Malorum and Sancor began investigations of Polis Massa, discovering much information to be sent to Lord Vader. In a fateful run-in with Obi-Wan Kenobi at the Research Base, Sancor lost his life.
During the Galactic Civil War shortly before the Battle of Yavin, Imperial intelligence tracked the Death Star plans to a small Rebel outpost in the medical center. The 501st Legion stormed the facility, and managed to obtain one holodisc. Overall, the raid was only a partial success, with the Rebels beaming the remainder of the plans to Princess Leia Organa's corvette the Tantive IV orbiting over Tatooine.
Polis Massa did not attract the attention of the
Yuuzhan Vong and remained unscathed.

Cato Neimoidia

Astrographical
Region: Colonies

System: Neimoidia system

Physical
Class: Terrestrial
Primary terrain: Mountains, fields, bridge cities, rock arches

The oldest of the Neimoidian purse worlds, Cato Neimoidia was the location of Nute Gunray's secret redoubt. The planet was near the Neimoidian homeworld of Neimoidia, also in the Colonies region.
Only the richest of the Neimoidians were allowed to live on the planet. Their treasures were protected in vaults located in difficult landscape and protected by
B1 battle droids. The cities of Cato Neimoidia were built on large bridges spanning massive rock arches.

History
Cato Neimoidia was one of many worlds colonized by the Neimoidians early during the Old Republic era. The wealthiest and most resource-rich colony worlds were known as "purse worlds" that served as administrative posts ruling their own set of colonies. These purse worlds were the only colonies allowed to carry the name of Neimoidia. Other Neimoidian purse worlds include Deko Neimoidia and Koru Neimoidia, both were nearby in the same region of the Galaxy. Cato Neimoidia was the oldest purse world and may have been one of the earliest Neimoidian colonies.
During the Clone Wars, it was a key member of the Confederacy of Independent Systems and was defended by the Neimoidian Home Defense Legions.
Towards the end of the Clone Wars, it was the last Separatist stronghold to be taken in the Core Worlds and Colonies. In 19 BBY, the Republic launched an attack on the redoubt, led by Jedi Generals Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, as well as Republic Navy Commander Jan Dodonna, to find Viceroy Nute Gunray of the Trade Federation and bring him to justice. Although on the brink of defeat, the Confederacy of Independent Systems was not ready to give up Cato Neimoidia without a fight.

SECOND BATTLE AND ORDER 66
With his clone wingmen, Jedi Master Plo Koon, in his Delta-7 Aethersprite starfighter, was tasked with the mission to patrol the skies of the Neimoidian purse-world. As battles raged on beneath him on many of the planet's bridge-cities, the Kel Dor Jedi continued to patrol the skies of the Separatist stronghold, on the lookout for enemy fighters.
On the bridges of the planet, Republic UT-ATs, AT-APs, and other walkers plus numerous clone troopers were fighting against Separatist droid forces for a way into the cities. Flying close now to a bridge, Plo Koon was unaware of what was happening in the ARC-170 starfighter behind him.
Captain Jag answered Supreme Chancellor Palpatine's issue of Order 66 without hesitation. Pulling back a little from the Jedi General, the clone pilot blew the Jedi Master's starfighter out of the sky, killing him. What remained of the fighter crashed into a building on a bridge-city, the explosion killing some of the Cato Neimoidia Garrison.

Soon enough, the now-Empire had won the planet after the battle droids of the Confederacy were deactivated. The Emperor himself made law that surviving Neimoidian outcasts on the planet would be taken prisoner.

Saleucami

Astrographical
Region: Outer Rim Territories
System: Saleucami system
Suns: 1 (Saleucami)

Physical
Climate: Arid at day, freezing cold at night
Diameter: 14,920 kilometers
Primary terrain: Deserts, caldera oases, magma tunnels, cities

Saleucami was a dim, arid Techno Union world with scattered oases of plant growth. Its plant life included unusual bulbous trees. It was located between Kegan and Handooine.

GEOGRAPHY
Saleucami was a dim, arid world with scattered oases of plant growth. Its name Saleucami meant "Oasis" in Wroonian since it was the only habitable planet within a system filled with dead, uninhabitable worlds and meteors. These meteors would frequently cross paths with the planet's orbit and would bombard its surface creating huge craters and stirring up subterranean waters and minerals, turning the calderas into life-filled pockets on the planet's surface. Large, bulbous plants were scattered around these calderas.
These craters of fertile soil were heated by geothermal vents and became the location of the earliest colonies on Saleucami. As a result, the planet became a trading post in the Outer Rim Territories. Saleucami had no indigenous sentient species, though it was home to Weequay, Gran, Wroonian and Twi'lek colonists. These colonists lived in tiny townships which were the only form of civilization on the planet besides a city which also served as a spaceport. Beneath the massive caldera was a system of magma streams and geothermal vents that powered the city and provided warmth during the freezing desert nights.

CLONE WARS
During the Clone Wars, Saleucami was a valuable member of the Confederacy of Independent Systems and was as a result named by Supreme Chancellor Palpatine as part of a "Triad of Evil," alongside Felucia and Mygeeto.
The Confederacy used the planet's underground caverns to host cloning facilities for their own clone armyMorgukai clones trained by Anzat assassins.
Unfortunately for the Separatists, their plot was discovered by the Jedi Master Tholme and Aayla Secura. As a result, the Jedi Council sent Jedi Generals Oppo Rancisis and his second-in-command Quinlan Vos along with a task force to destroy the cloning operations on Saleucami. This would start a massive five month-long siege between the Republic and the Separatist forces on the planet. First, the Republic captured Saleucami's main city and then fought their way inward.
During the conflict, Jedi Master Rancisis was murdered by his former friend, Sora Bulq, after being distracted by Anzat assassins. Sora Bulq and Tol Skorr were later killed by Quinlan Vos and Bok was slain by Aayla Secura. The Republic forces also flooded Saleucami's magma tunnels to kill the Separatist Morgukai clones. This conflict also caused heavy losses on both sides.

Some time shortly after Saleucami fell to the Republic, Stass Allie and Commander Neyo were patrolling the battlefield for remaining Separatist forces. They were leading a unit of BARC troopers over the plains when Order 66 was issued. Neyo and his lieutenant fired upon Allie's 74-Z speeder bike, destroying the vehicle and killing the Jedi Master instantly.
IMPERIAL ERA
During the Galactic Civil War, Jabba Desilijic Tiure had some holdings and a secret communications outpost on Saleucami, which were captured and eventually forcibly handed over to Tyber Zann shortly after the Battle of Yavin.

Felucia

Astrographical
Region: Outer Rim Territories
System: Felucia system
Suns: 1
Physical
Diameter: 9,100 kilometers (also depicted as 5,600 km)

Climate: Hot and humid
Gravity: 75% (possibly 46%)
Primary terrain: Rainforests, fungi, jungles, swamps

Felucia was a plant-covered, fairly inhospitable planet between Rhen Var and Colunda Sector, near Mossak and the Perlemian Trade Route. It would become a major CIS stronghold in the Clone Wars.

GEOGRAPHY
Once a major holding of the Commerce Guild, Felucia was a world teeming with fungal life-forms and immense primitive plants. Much of the planet has a fetid, humid landscape overgrown by forests of bizarre wilderness, such as the enormous Acklay (the mantis-like monster that battled Obi-Wan Kenobi in the arena on Geonosis in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones). Many of the life-forms on Felucia are partially or completely translucent; they color the sunlight as the beams penetrate their skin. Beneath the hazy canopies of the enormous pitcher plants and leafy growths is a surreal color-drenched landscape. When the sun shines, the environment glitters like multicolored glass, with a multitude of colors.

EARLY HISTORY
Felucia was colonized by the Gossam in 40,000 BBY, early in their interstellar history. Felucia was one of their earliest colonies, though it was one of the least populated since its vast fungus jungles proved too wild to support large Gossam colonies. As such, the planet became little more that an exotic retreat world for the wealthy Gossam along with their lowly servants and laborers. The planet was entirely controlled by the Commerce Guild, and resistance to the Guild was found in scattered townships in the wilderness. These townships were home to escaped workers, criminals, and enemies of the Guild.

Clone Wars
During the Clone Wars, Felucia became the headquarters of the Commerce Guild which supported the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Felucia would become a valuable member world and was as a result named by Supreme Chancellor Palpatine as part of a "Triad of Evil," alongside Mygeeto and Saleucami.
The planet was attacked during the Outer Rim Sieges. After the first attack, 19 BBY, Barriss Offee and Zonder were imprisoned on the planet. Aayla Secura took the Intrepid to Felucia to capture Shu Mai and rescue Barriss and Zonder; meanwhile, the Separatists began their attack on Coruscant. Little did Secura know that Shu Mai had already escaped and relocated on Utapau.
Ekria then shut down the droid beacon and allowed the clone troopers access to the facility. Wanting to find out more information about the battle at Coruscant, Ekria managed to find a holo-news station, saying that the Separatist fleet was in full retreat, and that Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi had rescued the Chancellor and killed Count Dooku.
Bly then told Secura that the air inside the compound was filling up with deadly toxins. To make matters worse, a self-destruct program in the facility was to destroy the building within a matter of minutes. After escaping and clearing the area, the facility explodes.
In truth, the self-destruct program was activated as part of Mai's earlier plan to poison Felucia if it were to fall into Republic hands. The poison started to spread, and the water facilities of Felucia would become infected and poison the water supply unless somebody were to do something.
Barriss Offee, the Padawan trio and lieutenants Barr, Galle, and Inc took a squad of troopers and headed toward some of the Felucian water facilities.
Upon entering the facility, Drake, Zonder, and Ekria cut down several Gossam workers. Ekria checked the main computer, finding out that the poison has not yet reached the facility. She shut down the main pipes, in order to prevent the poison from reaching the plant, though she couldn't access the other state.

Order 66
Secura, along with Bly, their troops and their armor detachment (AT-OTs and ISP Speeders), having recently destroyed a small force of droids, was heading towards a water treatment facility. However, Commander Bly received Order 66, and immediately ordered some of his lieutenants to fire on her. Aayla Secura and her troops were very close, so most of the lieutenants shot at less vital parts of her body. Secura, having been distracted by a native bird taking off, was caught off guard, and had no chance at survival. Bly, having mercy for his one-time friend, shot her quickly in the back, killing her instantly to minimize the pain.
Barriss Offee fared slightly better. She happened to be facing her troops when the order was received. The officer she was attended by struggled to turn off the message, but Offee heard it and ignited her lightsaber. The clones with her attempted to kill her but failed. As she turned to try to warn Aayla Secura, an AT-RT and several clones led by Lieutenant Galle walked out from behind a fungal tree and blasted her into smithereens before she could react.
In the water facilities, the Padawan trio tried to contact Secura and Offee, but their transmissions were being jammed. As such, Ekria used the Clone Cam network to get in contact with the Jedi. They saw Bly creep up behind Secura via Clone Cam.
Using Clone Cam, the Padawans saw the dead bodies of their masters. Frightened and sad, Ekria asked who was now in command. Then, a message from Chancellor Palpatine came in, stating that the war was over and all Jedi should return to the Jedi Temple to await further instructions. The Padawans then checked Galle's clone-cam, and saw that Galle's troops were about to burst into the Jiaozi facility to kill the Padawans. The Padawans barely escaped from Felucia, and would later head to Coruscant where they would disguise themselves as ordinary citizens.

Mygeeto

Astrographical
Region: Outer Rim Territories
System: Mygeeto system

Physical
Climate: Frigid
Primary terrain: Ice crystals, mountains, glaciers, urban
Surface water: near 100% (30% polar caps, 70% tundra)

Mygeeto was a wealthy InterGalactic Banking Clan colony between Ord Biniir and Morishim under control of the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

GEOGRAPHY
Since the planet was locked in an ice age, giant crystallized glaciation and ice covered its surface, as well as huge crystal spurs. Because of this, Mygeeto means "gem" in the ancient trade language of the Muuns. Mygeeto's internal fires long since cooled and had left a huge deposit of precious stones within its crust and mantle. The immense assets of nova crystals and fields of lasing crystals made Mygeeto one of the wealthiest worlds in the galaxy. The planet's ice shelves were also home to huge deadly worms.
Mygeeto did not have many mountain ranges - instead it was a crystal-rich planet bearing thousands of different kinds all over the surface and crust. There were no reported volcanoes or volcanic activity on the planet meaning it was a very unique planet.
The few cities on Mygeeto were sunken into the crystalline surface. These cities drew power by synthesizing certain crystals and were built around large capacitor towers that stored and distributed the valuable energy. These cities were used for administering the surrounding crystal mines though they also contained vaults which were used by the InterGalactic Banking Clan.
Nearly all of the planet was covered in thick ice and the polar climate meant weather systems where extemely unsettled - snow storms battered the frigid surface constantly. Before the giant ice age, Mygeeto had climate ranging form polar to temperate - 30% of Mygeeto was covered in polar ice caps and 70 was either tundra or temperate. Temperature varied between -47 degrees in polar areas to 17 degrees in equatorial areas.
Every 200 years or so Mygeeto would go through a snow shift meaning snowfall would be persistant and low pressure would dominate the northern hemisphere. This would also mean Mygeeto's mean temperature would dip significantly affecting the whole planet.

HISTORY
Due to easily mined formations of naturally-occurring, high-quality crystals present on the planet, the InterGalactic Banking Clan guarded Mygeeto with a fleet of warships including the Munificent-class Star Frigates. As a result, access by rivals to the planet was difficult. Even if intruders had bypassed the blockade, they were faced with the harsh, frozen surface of the planet itself. The Jedi had always wanted to explore the planet because of the large supply of natural crystals suitable for lightsaber construction.

The InterGalactic Banking Clan also constructed several cities in Mygeeto. These cities were used for administering the surrounding crystal mines, though they also contained vaults which were used by the Banking Clan to store its treasures. During the Clone Wars, Mygeeto became a valuable member of the Confederacy of Independent Systems and was as a result named by Supreme Chancellor Palpatine as part of a "triad of evil", alongside Felucia and Saleucami.

ENDGAME
Later, Jedi General Ki-Adi-Mundi led the Republic assault on the world along with Commander Bacara and the elite Galactic Marines. The planet would be the site of many horrific battles during the Clone Wars. By the conclusion of the battle, The blistering cannonades and laserfire of towering Separatists tri-droids and Republic artillery carriers reduced much of the city and crystalline landscape into rubble, polluting the icy winds with a persistent pall of gray ash. Many Republic vehicles, including UT-ATs, were blown apart by Confederate tri-droids. Later, Ki-Adi-Mundi's forces were reinforced by troopers from the 501st Legion sent by Palpatine himself.

Officially, the 501st Legion had been sent to destroy a droid energy collector, but in reality they were searching for an experimental power source that Palpatine required for a top-secret tributary laser-stream project code-named Hammertong. Clone Troopers destroyed two turbo laser turrets so that Ki-Adi-Mundi could land. After landing, Ki-Adi-Mundi headed for a Separatist tower, in which he was forced to fight three droidekas. Ki-Adi-Mundi managed to destroy the droids and detonate the tower, securing the power source that Palpatine had been looking for. Finally, he sent the power source off the planet, and aided the Clone Troops in the main battle. Towards the end of the battle, Commander Bacara received Order 66 and his troops killed Ki-Adi-Mundi mercilessly.

IMPERIAL ERA AND NEW REPUBLIC ERA

After the birth of the Galactic Empire, Mygeeto became a "bank world" for the Grand Imperial Navy, and the native Mygeetans became slaves for the Empire much like the Wookiees. After the death of Emperor Palpatine and the destruction of the second Death Star, the New Republic liberated Mygeeto from Imperial clutches and Mygeeto became an official member of the New Republic. Mygeeto managed to avoided the attacks of the Yuuzhan Vong, however the rest of the Muun territory did not fair as well.

The Senate Building, sometimes known as the Senate Rotunda, Convocation Center, or Senate Dome, was the building on Coruscant which served as the seat of the Galactic Senate at the end of the Old Republic. The designers claimed that any weapon capable of destroying the Chamber would also have to be powerful enough to destroy the entire planet, making the facility invulnerable against sabotage or orbital bombardment. It was also considered the New Republic's most famous symbol of freedom.

FEATURES
A massive building boasting a diameter of more than two kilometers and was several hundred meters tall, with a shield-shaped dome mounted on a narrower drum-shaped body, the Senate Rotunda was built some time after 4,000 BBY, possibly due to the older Senate building being damaged during the Great Sith War.
Located in the heart of the Senate District, the building was situated at the end of a large, flat concourse known as the Avenue of the Core Founders. This area was lined with tall, thin humanoid statues. At the end of the concourse was one of the ceremonial entrances, the Great Door. It was adorned with the Great Seal of the Republic and the sigils of the Thousand Worlds, which were members of the Senate. Directly inside the Great Door was the Atrium of the Senate. This was a grand entry hall, that was lined with statues of the Republic's greatest heroes and politicans. When choosing a color scheme for the walls, ancient designers chose lavender—it was the only shade that had not been historically associated with mourning, anger, or war in the entire Galaxy.
Inside each Senatorial delegation was given large amounts of office banks that could be customized to more closely resemble the native environment of the specific Senator's home planet. The Senate's communications were handled by the Senate Communications Center. The building itself was protected by an automated defense perimeter.

GRAND CONVOCATION CHAMBER
The majority of the building was dedicated to the Grand Convocation Chamber, a large round room several hundreds meters tall, filled with floating repulsorpods for each senator, and dominated in the center by a podium used by the Supreme Chancellor, the Vice Chair and the Senior Administrative Aide to coordinate the sessions. There were 1,024 repulsorpods for located in the chamber, one for each Senator. When a Senator wanted to speak the their pod would detach from the wall and move towards the center of the chamber so that all the Senators could see it.
Underneath the Grand Convocation Chamber was the Chancellor's holding office, which was a preparations area used by the Chancellor to prepare to address the Senate and entertain guests. When not in use, the Supreme Chancellor's Podium would rest in this space. When he wished to address the Senate when it was in session, the podium, mounted on a large hydraulic pillar, would rise up through retractable ceiling of the office and into the Senate Chambers. The Podium contained controls that were used to coordinate the movement of the Senate's repulsorpods. The Chamber was ringed with the Grand Concourse, where the Senate Guards stood guard at every repulsorpod entrance.
In the center, a thirty-meter-tall podium would rise up from the Chancellor's holding office for the Senate sessions. On this podium, the Supreme Chancellor, his Staff Aide, and the Vice Chair stood on the upper level, and the Senate scribe, journal clerk, parliamentarian, and Sergeant at Arms were seated on the lower level. Many major events occurred in this room throughout the history of the Galactic Republic and the Galactic Empire.
In the time of the New Republic Senate, the senior members of the Senate were seated at the lower levels, with the newer and less powerful Senators seated in the upper tiers.

HISTORY
In 32 BBY, a session for the Senate was called to deal with the Invasion of Naboo. As a result of Supreme Chancellor Finis Valorum's lack of power in resolving it, he was given a Vote of No Confidence. Senator Palpatine was voted the new Chancellor, and began serving soon after the crisis was ended.
Ten standard years later, Palpatine was voted emergency powers by the Senate to deal with the ongoing threat of the Separatist Crisis, which began the Clone Wars in 22 BBY.
After three years of battles and the Chancellor's own kidnapping, in 19 BBY, Palpatine announced to the Senate further security for his people by creating the Galactic Empire.
Mooments after the announcement of Order 66, the Grand Convocation Chamber became the location of a fight between Palpatine and Jedi Grand Master Yoda. In the duel, Palpatine threw several Senator pods towards Yoda, demolishing much of the once pristine chamber. It was quickly rebuilt, and continued to be used until the Senate was disbanded shortly before the Battle of Yavin.
The original Senate building was partially destroyed during the
Rebel Alliance's retaking of the planet; it was later rebuilt afterwards. Then, during the Thrawn crisis, it was almost completely destroyed. Later, it would be severely damaged by Kueller's bombs and would undergo a major renovation. By the time of Borsk Fey'lya's election as Chief of State, the building itself was rebuilt and it housed thousands of chairs and benches around the walls on tiers instead of having the repulsor Senate pods. The upper levels were randomly pitted with large chambers to seat other senators or representatives temporarily visiting the planet. It was said that they may have replaced some of the rooms with repulsor lift pods, but by the time of the Yuuzhan Vong's taking of the planet, that plan had been long abandoned.

The Jedi Temple is a building in the fictional Star Wars universe. It is a massive structure standing 1km high above the buildings of Galactic City, Coruscant, in an area where the Temple is largely unobstructed to sight.

Architecture
From the outside, the Jedi Temple appears as a high-raised ziggurat building in a stepped design, with five spires built on top, one taller spire surrounded by four smaller ones. These spires symbolize a Jedi's climb to enlightenment. Its design suggests that of a fortress, but for more than forty generations, it has stood as a symbol of peace and justice.
- The tallest Central Spire is known as the Temple Spire, and is traditionally the most important, since it holds the ancient texts of the Founding Jedi, and those scrolls saved from Ossus. The official status of Knighthood and Master are given in this spire.
- The first of the four smaller spires is Jedi Council Spire where the twelve members of the High Council sit and debate the various facets of the Republic. This is the most important tower because the High Council has overall decision-making powers over the whole
Jedi Order, and, thus, quite a bit of influence in the Galactic Republic. The Jedi Council Spire stands southwest to the Temple Spire.
- The second tower is that used by the Council of First Knowledge. This council takes care of matters requiring the wisdom of past Jedi Masters or Council members, and gives advice to the High Council, or most any Jedi who requests it. This spire stands northwest to the Temple Spire. - The third spire is the Council of Reconciliation Tower, which seeks to find peaceful settlements to political disputes at home on Coruscant or offworld in the Republic. This spire stands southeast to the Temple Spire.
- The fourth and last spire is the Reassignment Council Tower, which handles the organization of work for young Jedi who have not been chosen by Jedi Masters to be apprentices. This spire stands northeast to the Temple Spire.
Each of these five spires carries high-gain communication transmitters, used to contact field Jedi or other offworlders as required by any of the four Councils. This is part of the reason why the Jedi Temple's towers stand so high over any other buildings, where there is little or no interference with the antennas.

Use
The Temple itself is the home to the Jedi, where they live for the first years of their apprenticeship, and where they learn of the ways of the Force and train in the traditions of the Jedi Order.
The Jedi Archives are housed inside the Temple.
The Temple also provides independent transport for any Jedi who needs it. The recently constructed Temple Hangars house Delta-7 and Eta-2 Jedi Starfighters, capable of transporting Jedi anywhere in the galaxy.
The rest of the inner Temple mainly consists of dormitories, meditation, and training areas. There are many different areas, including areas where Jedi Masters train Younglings and where Jedi learn and develop their skills with the lightsaber, or areas that simply provide meditation space.
The Temple's network of communication systems is controlled in the computer room; it holds the Jedi beacon that allows speedy contact between the Temple and Jedi without having to use the HoloNet.
The Temple is surrounded by an extensive Precinct, which also offers docking space for larger spaceships, and contains other buildings built after the construction of the Temple.

The Jedi Archives, staffed by Jocasta Nu during the final days of the Old Republic, were located in the quarter of the Temple crowned with the Tower of First Knowledge. It contained vast wells of Jedi lore and history. An ancient section of the Temple was later converted into a museum of Temple history.

The meditative walkway, a cavernous hallway surrounding the base of the Temple was decorated with an arcade of stained-glass windows and statues relating the events of the Hyperspace Wars. It was also dotted with podiums holding the Jedi Code on tablets.

Other known features included the Jedi Medical Corps Infirmary, Sith containment cells, rotunda chapels, a holographic training rooms, Jedi Agricultural Corps Research Labs, communication centers, banquet halls, lightsaber crafting areas, and the Chamber of Conclave. During the Clone Wars the temple also housed military-style briefing chambers and war rooms, to fulfill the Jedi's needs as the generals of the Army of the Republic.
The area around the Temple came to be known as the Temple Precinct, which grew to offer docking space for larger spaceships, and contained other buildings built after the construction of the Temple.

History
Thousands of years before there was a Temple, the Jedi Order was run out by several Enclaves throughout the galaxy, as depicted in Knights of the Old Republic and The Sith Lords. Various locations included Dantooine, Coruscant and other planets. The Enclave on Coruscant might well have become the Temple itself; this is suspected due to comments referring to the Room of a Thousand Fountains being within both the Temple and Enclave. The Enclaves were subsequently bombed during the many wars with the Sith.

During the Jedi Purge in 19 BBY, the Temple was attacked by the 501st Legion of Clone troopers, led by the newly anointed Lord Vader carrying out Order 66 of the new Galactic Emperor. The Jedi inside were cut down and slaughtered. The Temple itself was set alight, statues cast down and destroyed and the building riddled with laser marks and signs of the previous attack during the purge. It was later found to be abandoned, but curiously was not completely destroyed (it is seen in the DVD edition of Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi).

Coruscant is a fictional planet in the Star Wars universe. It first appeared on screen in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, but was first mentioned in Timothy Zahn's Heir to the Empire. An ecumenopolis, it was renamed Imperial Center during the reign of the Galactic Empire and Yuuzhan'tar during the Yuuzhan Vong Invasion. The adjective form of the planet name is Coruscanti.
Coruscant was the
capital of the Old Republic, the Galactic Empire, the New Republic, the Yuuzhan Vong Empire and the Galactic Alliance at various times. It is generally agreed that Coruscant is the most important world in the galaxy, evidenced by the fact that its hyperspace coordinates are (0,0,0). The galaxy's main trade routes—Rimma Trade Route, Perlemian Trade Route, Hydian Way, Corellian Run and Corellian Trade Spine—go through Coruscant, making it the richest and most influential world in the Star Wars galaxy.

PLANETARY FEATURES

Surface
Geologically, the planet comprised a molten core with rocky mantle and silicate rock crust.
The entire surface of Coruscant had been covered over throughout the thousands of generations of galactic history by sprawling mile-high skyscrapers and cities, and boasting a population of over a hundred billion to several trillion, depending on the era. These skyscrapers dwarfed all the original natural features including mountains and now dry bodies of oceans which once covered a large proportion of Coruscant's surface. Areas of Galactic City were broken up into levels,
megablocks, blocks, and subblocks. Below the skyscrapers was Coruscant's undercity, where sunlight never reached. Artificial lighting illuminated these lower levels and advertisement holograms could be seen everywhere. There were numerous establishments for entertainment, catering to a myriad of alien species.

Water
Coruscant was once a world mostly covered in oceans. However, all natural bodies of water were drained and stored in vast caverns beneath the city as a result of years of overpopulation. The only body of water visible was the artificial Western Sea, with many artificially-created islands floating on it, used by tourists on holidays.
With no bodies of water available to feed and water its trillion inhabitants, Coruscant's architects, along with many others from around the galaxy, worked together to build a self-contained eco-system in the massive buildings set all over the planet. Polar cap stations also melted ice and distributed water throughout the planetwide city through a complex series of pipes.

Manarai Mountains
One of the few pieces of Coruscant's landmass that were left untouched were the Manarai Mountains, twin peaks that stuck up out of the ground near the famous Imperial Palace. The Manarai Mountains included the tallest peak, Umate; many floating restaurants; the Monument Plaza; and were home to the Flames of Umate cult. It was beneath the Manarai Mountains where Lusankya was hidden. During the Yuuzhan Vong assault on Coruscant the Manarai Mountains were destroyed.

Neighborhood
Galactic City was divided into several thousand quadrants, with each quadrant subdivided into numbered sectors. Some of these numbered sectors received colloquial names. For example, H-46 was also called Sah'c Town, named for the family that owned much of it. Some areas were specifically designated senatorial, governmental, financial (including banking zones), commercial, and residential. Larger areas of the planet were designated for industrial or manufacturing use only. The largest of these areas was known colloquially as "The Works", which manufactured spacecraft parts, droids, and building materials at an astonishing rate for hundreds of years, but as construction in space became more efficient, The Works fell in disrepair. It gained the reputation as a hub of high criminal activity and many locals stayed away from it. Another area of Coruscant was CoCo Town (short for "collective commerce"). Many diverse species lived there and worked in manufacturing. A partially enclosed open-air plaza near the Senate building was called Column Commons because it housed most of the HoloNet and news media corporations.

Lifestyle
Coruscant also orbited relatively far from its tiny star Coruscant Prime, ranging from 207 million to 251 million km. Thus, Coruscant did not naturally have a climate suitable for Humans. Coruscant's Humans countered this by erecting a series of orbital mirrors that reflected the sun's warmth and light. Several of these mirrors would be destroyed in the Battle of Coruscant during the Clone Wars, although it is unknown whether this had any lasting effect.

Almost everything on the planet, from clothes to packaging and machinery, was recyclable. Another problem for a world like Coruscant was the unimaginable amount of carbon dioxide and heat energy that its trillion-being population generated each day, so thousands of carbon dioxide-reactive atmospheric dampeners were put into place in the upper atmosphere to prevent atmospheric degeneration. The first set of these planet-wide dampeners, developed by the Galactic Republic, was known as the Coruscant Atmospheric Reclamation Project.
Near the planet's core were a number of massive power relay stations. The lowest levels were abandoned to mutants and scavengers, such as the
cannibalistic, mythical Cthons. The foundations of many of the buildings, some of which weighed billions of tons, also extended deep into the planet's crust.
Galactic Standard Time was developed on Coruscant and revolved around the hours Coruscant had in a single day, which was 24 hours, with 368 local days a year.

Alderaan was the second planet in the Alderaan system, and the home of many famous heroes, including Leia Organa Solo, Bail Organa, and Ulic Qel-Droma. Renowned Galaxy-wide for its unspoiled beauty, Alderaanians worked with and around the land to preserve as much of the natural surroundings as they could.
In an attempt by Grand Moff Tarkin and the Empire to intimidate the galaxy into submission, the unarmed and peaceful planet of Alderaan was destroyed by the first Death Star in 0 BBY.

Geography
Considered the "Shining Star" of the Core Worlds, wild grasslands and old mountain ranges dominated the planet's land surface. Large oceans and scattered inland seas provided the planet with ideal conditions for a large variety of flora and fauna to develop. As such, Alderaan was the homeworld of some of the galaxy's most famous animals, such as the nerf and the thranta. Alderaanian cities were often built with great care taken to protect nature. One such city, Crevasse City was built on the walls of a canyon, nearly invisible from above. Others were built on stilts along the shoreline or under the polar ice. The capital, Aldera, known for its university, was built on a small island in the center of a caldera.
In the
Castle Lands, the remains of Killik mounds stood as a silent testament to the indigenous species that had disappeared for unknown reasons. Philosophers, poets, and artists often visited the Castle Lands for inspiration and meditation.
Alderaan was home to more than eight thousand subspecies of grass and an even larger number of wildflowers. Its flora also included a massive variety of spices, herbs, and grains. The planet had no major oceans, but it had a single polar ice cap. The rest of Alderaan's surface water was composed of thousands of lakes and connecting waterways.

SOCIETY
Alderaanian culture valued education, the performing and fine arts, and peaceful resolutions to conflicts. They placed high value in their participation in the Galactic Senate—and later, its Imperial equivalent. The Alderaanians constantly sought a harmonious existence with their surroundings, evident in their integration of their society into the natural terrain of Alderaan. Alderaanians were known for love of philosophy.
An average Alderaanian was very educated and cultured. Poets and artists thrived on Alderaan. The beauty moved the pens of poets, while the vast grasslands served as a canvas for grass paintings. Alderaan was also famous for its cuisine. The large variety of spices and herbs allowed chefs to experiment and create some of the finest dishes in the Galaxy. Steamed Alderaanian spiced wine was a favored beverage among many. Some of Alderaan's major exports included wine, art, and luxury goods.

HISTORY

CLONE WARS
As a whole, Alderaan strongly opposed the Military Creation Act, but remained loyal to the Republic during the Clone Wars. Alderaan allowed Refugee Relief Movement settlement by displaced exiles from Ando and other Separatist worlds who wished to remain Republic citizens. During the Clone Wars, Alderaan was attacked personally by General Grievous and took heavy damage, nearly "being destroyed."

IMPERIAL ERA
The Galactic Empire violently terminated the Jedi Praxeum on the planet, though a few students escaped. Alderaan's massive war machine was dismantled and the weapons were placed aboard an armory warship called Another Chance. The ship was programmed to continually jump through hyperspace until called home by the Alderaanian Council. Alderaan became home to the majority of the remaining Caamasi when their homeworld of Caamas was devastated by the Galactic Empire. Ylenic served as Trustant of the Caamasi Remnant and adviser to the Organas. With the rise of the New Order, Queen Breha Organa and Senator Viceroy Bail Organa adopted Leia Amidala Skywalker.

DESTRUCTION AND AFTERMATH
Alderaan was destroyed by the Death Star in Episode IV: A New Hope at Grand Moff Tarkin's order as a demonstration of the space station's power to Princess Leia. (Despite her protests of Alderaan being a peaceful world with no weapons, the film's novelization states that the planet had armaments as strong as any planet in the Empire.) Tarkin felt the Rebels were growing bolder, and only a very public demonstration of the Death Star's power against a Rebel target would succeed in frightening the Alliance into submission. Palpatine approved in advance of the destruction of the planet, but publicly adopted a benevolent persona, announcing that he was saddened by the loss of such a noble world. He added that, had Alderaan entrusted itself to Imperial protection, it would still be thriving. In other words, the destruction of Alderaan might not have been necessary had Bail Organa simply bowed before the emperor. He then made an apparently magnanimous offer to resettle the sixty thousand surviving Alderaanians who were away when their homeworld was destroyed, on his "private resort world".
Approximately 60,000 natives survived because they were off-world, and many of them relocated to the planet of New Alderaan, hoping to recreate the beauty that had been Alderaan.
Exactly how many Alderaanian survivors took Palpatine up on his offer and moved to Byss is unknown. It may have been better for them to have died in the disaster, considering what really happened to those hopefuls who came to the Deep Core stronghold; many were simply rendered mindless slaves, going about their lives in a deadened bliss while Palpatine and his dark side servants fed from their life energies.
The planet's destruction was not without detrimental effects to the Empire, however. Once word of the world's fate got out, thousands of Alderaanians who had been off-planet joined the Rebel Alliance. Alderaan's survivors became among the most dedicated soldiers of the Alliance, vowing never again to let the Empire destroy another world. Most Imperial military members from Alderaan immediately defected to the Rebellion. A few of the Alderaanian survivors became supporters of the Empire, blaming the 'inept and traitorous' Bail Organa and the rebellion for 'opposing the Emperor and thereby destroying everything they had', even their loved ones. Princess Leia met one such supporter, an Imperial military officer, on the planet Bakura during a temporary truce between the Alliance and one section of the Empire.
Survivors of Alderaan and their descendants practiced a ritual of "returning" to the Alderaan system. Returners would fill memorial capsules with gifts for departed relatives and friends and jettison them into the asteroid field (known as the Graveyard), which was all that remained of the planet after its destruction. Some survivors, such as Tycho Celchu had made known their desires to be buried amongst the remains of their former homeworld after their deaths.

BUILDING A NEW WORLD
With Alderaan destroyed, some council members led the people to New Alderaan, which was founded after the Galactic Civil War died down somewhat. The Royal House of Alderaan, in the person of Leia Organa-Solo and her children, continue to hold sovereignty of both New Alderaan and the Alderaan system. The government on New Alderaan administers both systems.
