Prelude to 15th day

Happy Birthday to Ash By Def, Sebastian and Annabelle Loh

Later today, I will be going to a certain mountain region located at the northeast part of Thailand, that's where the 'true test of faith' will commence. I don't knw exactly what to expect there, other than mosquitos, lizards and all types of creepy crawlies. Please pray for me, my father and the 4 missionaries who will be accompanying us on this upcoming experience. I don't even know if I'll be back in one piece or not. Details on the 3 day, 2 night stay in Khorat will be uploaded on Wednesday.

14th day... back to Nom Tamleung village

Yep that's right, as the title of this entry suggests, Pa and I went to Nom Tamleung village today to visit the kids again, alongside Kundam and Oon (the younger boy who followed us to the same place last week). Before that, we went to visit the elderly couple who reared chickens, alongside a fellow Christian who owned a van.

For once I can see that some of the boys were rather greedy... they already got chocolates and yet they want more. Despite lack of visuals (cos Loong and the cute girl didn't accompany us), Dad and Oon came up with a very interesting game... "Samson, Lion, Delilah" (based on the story of Samson in the Book of Judges). This game is very similar to "Scissors Paper Stone"... in this version, Samson triumhs over the Lion (he possesses superhuman strength), the Lion triumphs over Delilah (obviously the feminine Delilah is no match for a mighty beast), and Delilah triumphs over Samson (she was the one who convinced Samson to tell her the secret behind his strength, and that caused his downfall). Team A (with mostly boys) beat Team B 5 points to 4.

Besides taking picture of the kids in 'action', I also took pics of the younger kids playing with toy vehicles near the school.

Oh yes, there's this xiao mei mei (abt 5 yrs old) among the younger batch of kids, whom I find extremely adorable... upon closer look, she reminded me of Avril as well as Rachel. I couldn't resist pinching her cheeks... lucky her mum (who's rather young) didn't see, otherwise I would be in trouble. But she's really cuuuuuuute, don't you think? This gal really lives up to the quote "PINCH YEEEEEE!!!" :-p
Animal wise, I did see the ducks, the skinny chickens and the dogs (some being rather unwelcoming), but no sign of that huge rat; I later learnt from one of the boys that it got slaughtered (no surprise). I did see a very fat frog near the fish pond, but it disappeared before I could even snap a picture of it. I think that frog's time will be up before next Saturday, given its grotesque condition. All I can say is that Mr Froggy's torso was as huge as a tennis ball. :-(

We then went to visit the elderly man in the hut at the other side of the village... he seems to be getting a little better, though quite weak. After that, we went to the nearby drink stall for refreshment, then we ended off with Doxology and then the 4 of us left the place at abt 2 pm. While Dad left for the airport to fetch 4 other guys, I stayed behind to slack. I am so not looking forward to the 3D/2N stay in the Khorat mountains which begins tomorrow... :-(

A few more verses to be shared before start of 14th day

Happy Birthday to Jeanette Aw and Hong Qiuting

Before I follow my dad to visit the kids in the Nom Tamleung village again, there are a few more verses I wanna share. I wanna make it clear that I am against people who fall too deeply in love with the pleasures of the world... be it food, entertainment and the like. Oh God, I pray that You make such people like MKP realize the errors of the ways and that they will eventually come to know more about You. Otherwise... good luck to them.

2 Timothy 3:1-9
But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them. They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over weak-willed women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth. Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these men oppose the truth—men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone.

2 Timothy 3:12-17
everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

13th day... sharing a few meaningful verses

Happy Birthday to Tobey Maguire (Spider-Man), Nazri and Joyin

Friday, 27th June
I woke up rather early due to another nightmare... something on a freak accident of complicated sorts. To make things worse, it involves mostly Mediacorp fans. I hope this is only a figment of my imagination and not an indicator on what is to happen in the near future... :-(
Nothing much was done today other than the usual lunch outing with Kundam... but I do want to share a few verses here... to counter the distasteful and unpleasing details I have read from someone's blog.

2 Timothy 2:14-19
Keep reminding them of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen. Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly. Their teaching will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus, who have wandered away from the truth. They say that the resurrection has already taken place, and they destroy the faith of some. Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: "The Lord knows those who are His," and, "Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness."

2 Timothy 2:22-23
Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. And the Lord's servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.

12th day, where nearly everything went wrong

Happy Birthday to Monika, Colleen and Rebecca Chan
Thursday, 26th June

Something bad happened to myself earlier today. I think I've been under attack by an evil spirit. Or maybe it's just lack of self-control or sheer impatience. Whatever the case is, I am so not gonna waste any more time in that Saeksart University starting from next week. And I am gonna stick to Ice Mocha or Cappucinno, NOT ice cream.

After waking up late and going for the usual Bible Study, me and Pa had lunch at Pacific Plaza located at Sri Racha... at good ol' McDonald's. :-) Although the manager for that outlet was really pretty (looks a bit like Jessica Tan, heh), I don't quite feel so enthusiastic about Mc's like before (cos I usually eat at Mc's abt once a week). the menu is roughly the same as the one in the Singaporean outlets, BUT there was also evidence on copycats from KFC: stuff like Cheesy Fries, Spicy Drumlets and Banditos. Still, it was great to eat at Mc's again after so long.

Right after lunch, we went to this Saekchan's house, and after visitng Ronald, we began a long and tiring journey... and that's where my weakness for boredom and impatience started. I am NOT even interested in looking at the female students there, never mind if some of them are really cute and attractuve like a few gals I know back in Singapore, be it actresses or fans (wink wink). I don't wish to go into further details, cos I already feel remorseful for the scene I created. Still, I have to admit I do feel lonely like an outsider with so many Thai teens looking at me, a Thai-nese fella from another country who cannot understand the language they are speaking. Still, I made up for the blunder in that darn place by eating sandwiches for dinner. I feel I have to pray for repentance right now...

Lord Jesus, I pray that You forgive me for flaring up over small matters and for throwing fits. I am really trying very hard to control myself and resist negative thoughts. And do teach me to be more tolerant and understanding towards Pa and Saekchan who are evangelising to the students in that school. Also teach me to be more caring towards my friends and even my enemies, including that attention seeker. I really don't want to hate that person, but I hope that someday he will realizen the errors of his ways and learn to be more humble.
I also thank You for watching over us during that difficult journey along the road, for leading us safely back to Chonburi. I pray You forgive those road hogs who are rather reckless. I commit the rest of the night and tomorrow into Your hands. In Jesus' name I pray, amen.

11th day... visiting relatives

Happy Birthday to Pan Ling Ling, Li Shu Ling and Jianwei
Wednesday, 25th June

Nothing much done before 5 pm... I had lunch with Pa and Kundam at Tesco Lotus (we also bought some clothes there). We watched some DVDs, went for evening walk, and after that we headed to A-Noik's house. A-Noik (Pa's younger sister, aka my aunt) and family had come back from the States the night before, they were resting earlier due to jetlag. Cousin Peenut (A-Noik's 2nd daughter) woke up from her long sleep and I had a chat with her for a while. I also compared tummies with Ah Boon (A-Noik's husband, aka my uncle), when they remarked on how big I look. Pramen (Pa's older sister, aka my 1st aunt) was also with them.

Then we all went to Cousin Peepui's (A-Noik's 1st daughter) restaurant located at Bang Saen... man, I had no idea that Peepui was the owner of Anytime's Thai Fusion Food!! :-O Moreover, the restaurant had opened only about 10 days ago (on the same day I arrived in Thailand, how coincidental.) I was indeed delighted to know that the place served Western food along with Thai delicacies, so I happily ordered Spicy Bacon Spagetthi for dinner. Man, there were so many things to choose from. I would love to go there again and try another dish :-p
Yep, that's Peenut posing with the spagetthi :-)
I could have taken picture of the whole family, but unfortunately, Ah Boon and the others were too busy chatting away with the other waitresses. Maybe next time then, there's still 2 more weeks to go. The place looked quite well-off btw, esp with a Sawasdee Coffee restaurant just next to it. :-)

10th day... on the top of a mountain, and multimedia shopping!

Happy Birthday to Andrea D'Cruz and Adam Chen
Tuesday, 24th June

Pa and I went through about an hour on Bible Study, then left for Sri Racha at ard 10 plus. First we went to collect some parcel at a certain post office, and then we went to a certain Thai restaurant by the roadside to have lunch.

Then we drove to a certain mountain region to visit a certain Pastor Boontang, who lived in a small hut and owned a big mansion for Christians to do their ministering. The view of the mountains from where we are located is simply... breathtaking.

So while Pa and Pastor Boontang chatted, I went up to the higher levels of the mansion for a better view of the mountainside. Man I tell you, the mansion was HUGE, it consists of 4 floors... ground level for people to play chess or chat, 2nd floor got toilets and a few rooms, 3rd level is meant for worship purposes, and the top level is where you can enjoy the cool breeze and get a wonderful view of the mountains from opposite. Oh, and the place was located just next to a railway track meant for oil-type trains. Thank The Lord for toilets, cos I was in high tide by the time I was at the 2nd level of the mansion. :-p

After we bade Pastor Boontang farewell, we headed to a multimedia shop known as Tukcom.com... it is very similar to Sim Lim Square. It sold computers, TV sets, cameras, cellphones... anything you can find (including a few supermarkets at the basement). There were also porn movie CDs being sold, but Pa and I shunned away from those stalls, due to obvious reasons. We bought loads of stuff, like earphones, rewrittable CDs and Movie DVDs!! We returned to the house at abt 1630 hrs, went for evening walk, had quick dinner and ended off with Internet time. :-)

P.S. I won't tell you the full names of the DVDs I bought, or even upload pictures of them (I am not a boastful person anyway), but I will gladly drop hints in the form of acronyms... ;-)

1) TCoN 1: TL,TW n TW
2) TCoN 2: PC
3) IJ IV
4) Sanguo (starring Andy, Maggie and Sammo)
5) IM (Marvel film, about to end run)
6) TIH (Marvel film, now showing)

Oh crap, I just remembered... today is the first anniversary of that murderer's demise... the WWE Superstar kown as the Rabid Wolverine (whose name shall no longer be fully mentioned), who committed suicide after killing his wife Nancy and son Daniel.
