Master Mao
The Rangers' previous master at the Pai Zhua academy; Mao's physical body was destroyed by Dai Shi while protecting the Rangers, but he continued to help the Rangers in spirit form. He transformed into a feline spirit after his death and resided in the Spirit World for a time. In the end, he had learned how to pass between the real world and spirit world, seemingly freely. In his highest level of power, Master Mao morphs into a caracal, or Persian lynx.

Upon arrival in the Spirit World, Casey was no match for him in combat. When it came to the first test, Master Rilla sends Casey into a dimension to face his fear of the 'monster' in his closet when he was young, which he passes. Casey learns how to channel Master Rilla's Gorilla spirit. In the end, he returns to save his student during the final beast war when Dai Shi opens the gate to the spirit world to resurrect his beasts. In his highest level of power, Master Rilla morphs into an anthropomorphic gorilla, whose original name is based on Chinese martial artist-cum-actor Donnie Yen.
Master Guin
A Pai Zhua master who possesses the spirit of the Penguin. She died in the Great Battle and currently resides in the Spirit World. Upon arrival in the Spirit World, Lily was no match for her in combat. When it came to the first test, Master Guin sent Lily into a dimension to face her fear of spiders, which she passed. Lily learnt how to channel Master Guin's Penguin spirit. In the end, she returned to save her student during the final beast war when Dai Shi opened the gate to the spirit world to resurrect his beasts. In her highest level of power, Master Guin morphs into an anthropomorphic penguin, whose original name is based on Malaysian-born martial artist-cum-actress Michelle Yeoh.
Master Lope
A Pai Zhua master who possesses the spirit of the Antelope. He died in the Great Battle and currently resides in the Spirit World. Upon arrival in the Spirit World, Theo was no match for him in combat. When it came to the first test, Master Lope sends Theo into a dimension to face his fear of performing karaoke in front of everyone, which he passes. Theo learns how to channel Master Lope's Antelope spirit. In the end, he returned to save his student during the final beast war when Dai Shi opened the gate to the spirit world to resurrect his beasts. In his highest level of power, Master Lope transforms into an anthropomorphic antelope, whose original name is based on Hongkong martial artist-cum-actor Yuen Biao.
