MK 2011 info: Cyber Sub-Zero

As a cyborg, SUB ZERO'S natural strength is further enhanced through cybernetics. While he has a noticeably lighter frame, he appears to easily be the strongest and most capable of the cyborg ninjas, not only for soundly defeating his former Lin Kuei brethren Sektor and his older brother, but both Shokan champions, Kintaro and Goro single-handed at the same time. He still retains his old cryomancy powers and wields the same skill he had when he was human, but these have been translated into a fighting style especially suited for his unique frame, taking attributes from both his original form and Cyrax.

While he can fire ice blasts in an instant from his chest cavity, he still performs the charging motion subconsciously to help focus his power. He still retains the ability to shape the cold around his body into solid weaponry and thus, regularly uses an ice sword in battle, albeit with a different, much larger shape featuring a hand guard. Like Cyrax, he has the ability to teleport by separating his limbs and reconfiguring at a different location. While he has lost the ability to make ice clones, he is instead given the ability to flash-freeze himself temporarily, passing the freeze to melee attackers for a quick counterattack.

Signature Moves
Ice Ball: Cyber Sub-Zero
sends a ball of ice directly towards the opponent to temporarily freeze them in place for a free hit. This move is similar to his freeze in human form, except it's smaller and is fired directly from the chest.
* The enhanced version is called Ice Beam. Cyber Sub-Zero shoots a beam of ice instead of a ball, and the opponent stays frozen for a longer amount of time.

Ice Bomb: Cyber Sub-Zero drops an ice bomb from his chest compartment, when the bomb explodes, it damages the opponent. It will freeze the opponent if the bomb is in very close range to them. There is a short, long and very long range variation of the attack. This move is similar to Cyrax's Bomb.
* The enhanced version is called Cryo Bomb and sends out three bombs at once. It is unblockable.

Slide: Cyber Sub-Zero slides across the floor, knocking the opponent off their feet. This move is taken directly from his human form.
The enhanced version is called Cyber-Slide. Cyber Sub-Zero travels further and faster, and follows-up with a flying kick.

Teleport: Cyber Sub-Zero's limbs detach from his body with a flash of blue-white light. Then they reattach behind his enemy. This move is very similar to Cyrax's Exploding Teleport.
The enhanced version is called Bangport. Cyber Sub-Zero's detached limbs hit the opponent while teleporting, damaging the opponent.

Ice Parry: Cyber Sub-Zero flash-freezes himself in a sheet of ice. If he is touched by melee attacks while in this state, he will pass the freeze to his opponent and hit them with his Kori Blade. This does not work when hit low.
The enhanced version is called Frozen Parry. Cyber Sub-Zero completely freezes his opponent without a counterattack.

Divekick: While in the air, Cyber Sub-Zero dives down in a diagonal kick. This can be done in close and far proximity.
The enhanced version is called Powerkick and Cyber Sub-Zero kicks the opponent twice.

X-Ray Move - Cool Down: Cyber Sub-Zero does a Dive Kick to get behind his opponent, dizzying them, then creates a ball of ice and slams it to the back of their head, damaging their skull. Then he creates a Kori Blade and stabs upward through their back before pushing his opponent to the ground.

Fatalities
Kold Fusion: Cyber Sub-Zero
enters a code on his arm and then jumps on his opponent, freezing himself with them. After that, they both explode into shards of ice, leaving only the opponent's legs. This fatality resembles the Hara-Kiri fatalities of Mortal Kombat: Deception as well as Cyrax's MK3 Self-Destruct Fatality (further giving him resemblance to Cyrax, along with a similar teleport and ranged bombs).

Brain Freeze: Cyber Sub-Zero fires 2 shurikens from his chest, one into each of the opponent's eyes. After that, he charges an ice blast and fires it while shooting a third shuriken. Both get into the opponent's brain, where they spin, shredding it, which is shown in a fashion similar to the X-Ray moves. As the shuriken spins, the opponent is seen falling to the floor, dead, their limbs twitching in awkward ways.

Babality: Cyber Sub-Zero plays with an ice bomb. He then drops it, freezing himself into a block of ice. His cries can be heard while frozen.

MK 2011 info: Sektor

The son of the Grand Master, it was never in question that SEKTOR would join the Lin Kuei. What pleases the Grand Master is the degree to which his son relishes the life of an assassin. The secretive clan allows SEKTOR to express his darker nature, using any means necessary to complete his tasks. Hired by Shang Tsung, his current assignment is to attend the Mortal Kombat tournament and eliminate the Earthrealm competitors before they have a chance to compete. Though this mission will put his clan in good standing with Shao Kahn, SEKTOR'S ultimate goal is to supplant his father as Grand Master of the Lin Kuei.

Signature Moves
Chest Missile: Sektor fires a missile directly at his opponent from his chest. In MK 2011 this is called Straight Missile. In his human form, he fires it from his hands.

* Double Missile: Sektor fires two missiles straight at his opponent. This becomes the enhanced version of Straight Missile in MK 2011.

Upward Missile: Sektor fires a missile upwards, which falls back down, hitting the opponent from above. In MK 2011 Sektor can now fire a missile in front or behind the enemy, and it is called Up Missile.

* Homing Missile: Sektor fires a missile that follows the opponent before exploding. In MK 2011 this move is the enhanced version of Up Missile.

Rocket Punch: Sektor teleports under his opponent and gives him a rising uppercut. This move can also be done in air. In MK 2011 this is called Teleport Uppercut.
* The enhanced version is called Metal Uppercut. After the first hit lands, Sektor will hit the opponent a second time, slamming them into the ground.

Flame Burner: Sektor fires flames at the opponent with his arm implanted flamethrower.
* The enhanced version is called Flame Thrower, which deals more damage.

X-Ray Move - Massive Missile: Sektor fires a powerful missile from his chest at his opponent, then immediately performs a Rocket Punch that breaks his opponent's jaw, skull, and knocks teeth out. As they fall, he charges up a powerful force palm and targets the opponent's back, which is enough to break their spine and close bones.

Fatalities
Robo-Sek: Sektor deploys four missiles from his frame but remain at his side as he locks on to the victim, releasing a shattering pulse blast from his chest cavity that tears the opponent's body's head, torso and arms apart. As they fly into the air, the missiles find their mark and strike the disembodied body parts, vaporizing them as the legs finally collapse. In his alternate human form, the missiles are obtained from a device he throws and the pulse blast is launched from the armband.

The Scarecrow: Sektor launches a device in his dazed opponent's chest. He then enters a code to his arm and the device separates tearing apart the arms, legs, torso, and head. In his human form he throws the device from his hand instead of firing it from his chest.

Babality: Sektor starts playing with his rocket which then activates, sending Sektor flying. He then falls to the ground and starts crying.

MK 2011 info: Cyrax

A skilled Motswana warrior, CYRAX relies on his natural fighting ability, his chi, to carry out Lin Kuei missions. He is proud to serve, but when the Grand Master initiates a program to convert the clan into cyborgs, Cyrax resists. He is reluctant to lose his humanity, which he believes is more effective than any mechanical augmentation. He has contemplated leaving the clan, fearing that it is no longer an organization of honorable assassins. Cyrax knows, however, that such a decision means death at the hands of his former comrades. No one leaves the Lin Kuei.

Signature Moves

* Energy Net: Cyrax fires a green energy net from his chest which ensnares the opponent temporarily. In MK 2011, his human form launches it from his hand rather than his chest.
o The enhanced version is called Electro Net and will drain the opponent's Super Meter.

* Detonator: Cyrax drops a bomb from his chest compartment in front of him, which explodes after a couple of seconds. He can shoot the bomb either far or near. In MK 2011, his human form takes it from his belt and throws it.
o The enhanced version is called Sticky Bomb, which appears as a bomb with two spears, piercing the opponent and then exploding.

* Teleport: Cyrax vanishes and reappears behind the opponent. In MK 2011, his human form replaces it with a smoke bomb teleport.
o The enhanced version is called Bangport. Cyrax causes an explosion when teleporting, which can hit the opponent.

* Air Throw: Cyrax can throw his opponent when his opponent is in the air.
o The enhanced version is called Power Anti-Air.

* Reverse Kick: Cyrax preforms a reverse kick to his opponent, sending him/her on the other side.
o The enhanced version is called Donkey Kick.

* Ragdoll: After performing Reverse Kick, Cyrax grabs his opponent in mid air, and throws them down on the ground.
o The enhanced version is called Ragdolls.

* Buzzsaw: Cyrax opens his chest compartment and a giant sawblade emerges. In MK 2011, his human form takes it out from his armbands.
o The enhanced version is called Saw Blade.

* X-Ray Move - Cyberdriver: Cyrax launches his opponent up into the air with a bomb, which causes them to flip upside down. He then teleports up to them and kicks them causing the spine and ribs to break. He then grabs the opponent, while they are still upside down, and pile-drives them into the ground, shattering pieces of their skull and neck with his foot on top of their head.

Fatalities

* Buzz Kill: Cyrax turns his hand into a sawblade and slices his opponent with it. Cyrax finishes the job by kicking the opponent, making him/her fall down in pieces. In his alternate human form, the sawblade comes out from one of his armbands.

* Nothing but Net: After entering some coordinates into his arm module, Cyrax fires an energy net that passes straight through the enemy. The opponent then screams in terror as he/she falls to pieces. In his alternate human form, the net is obtained from his pocket.

* Babality: He plays with one of his explosives, rolling it and giggling. It then explodes, and Cyrax starts to cry. If the Babality is done on Cyrax's human form, he will cry out normal tears instead of oil.

MK info: Sektor

SEKTOR

Appearances: Mortal Kombat 3/UMK3/MK Trilogy, Mortal Kombat Gold, MK: Tournament Edition, MK: Armageddon
Realm of Origin: Earthrealm
Species: Cyborg (formerly Human)
Alignment: Evil
Fighting styles:
Ninjitsu (MK:TE)
Sambo (MK:TE)
Kenpo (MK:A)
Weapons:
Laser Pistol (MKG)
Pulse Blades (MK:TE, MK:A)

Throughout the various Mortal Kombat games he was involved in, Sektor has grown into an ever more menacing mechanized warrior. He represents the closest thing to evil a cyborg can be, and combines traits of both a stealthy ninja and a ruthless killing machine fit for modern warfare. In contrast to his counterpart Cyrax, Sektor never bothered to rediscover his human side, and may be unable to. As far as this could be said about a cyborg, it is likely that he suffers from a form of insanity. He is capable of independent thought and action like Cyrax and Smoke, but unlike them, shows no sign of emotion.
When the Lin Kuei clan decided to automate their ninja in the events leading up to Mortal Kombat 3, Sektor, out of loyalty, was their first member to volunteer to undergo the process, and would later appear to be their most successful creation yet. Designated unit LK-9T9, he was sent to find and kill the rogue clansman Sub-Zero. He attempted to complete this mission twice (during UMK3 and Gold), but never succeeded. Events would leave him as the only active cyborg remaining of the three created, with Smoke having been captured and shut down in an Outworld prison, and Cyrax having become a member of the Outer World Investigation Agency after his soul was restored.
During his many violent battles against Outworld forces, Sektor's program became corrupted. He believed the Lin Kuei Grandmaster to be inferior, and set his new objective to eliminate him and took control of the clan. Sektor successfully slew the Grandmaster, but was stopped from claiming the Dragon Medallion, the proof of the clan's leadership, by a returning Sub-Zero. Sub-Zero defeated Sektor in battle and claimed the title of Grandmaster. After his defeat, Sektor fled to
Japan and formed the Tekunin, his own clan of cyborg ninja warriors.

MK info: Cyrax

CYRAX

Appearances: Mortal Kombat 3/UMK3,MK Trilogy, Mortal Kombat Gold, MK: Deadly Alliance/Tournament Edition, MK: Armageddon
Realm of Origin: Earthrealm
Species: Cyborg (formerly Human)
Alignment: Good
Fighting styles:
Ninjitsu (MK:DA, MK:A)
Sambo (MK:DA)
Weapons:
Sabre of Light (MKG)
Pulse Blade (MK:DA, MK:A)

Making his debut in Mortal Kombat 3, Cyrax was the second of three cybernetic ninjas originally from the Lin Kuei clan. Of the three cyborgs, he has become the second to recover his humanity. This is due to the efforts of Sonya Blade and Jax. He has currently allied with them as a token of his appreciation.
An African-American fighter, Cyrax, alongside his partners Sektor and Smoke, was assigned to hunt a renegade member of the Lin Kuei clan, the younger Sub-Zero, as designated unit LK-4D4. This Sub-Zero was against the decision to convert all its members into cyborgs and left the clan. He was thus marked for death by the grandmasters.
During the invasion of Earthrealm by Shao Kahn and his minions, Sub-Zero defeated Cyrax and reprogrammed him with orders to destroy Shao Kahn. However, Kahn was defeated by the other Earthrealm warriors before Cyrax had a chance to do so. As a result of his reprogramming, he awaited new orders. When these never came, he malfunctioned and wandered until becoming mired in the middle of a vast desert. In Mortal Kombat Gold, Cyrax was recovered and repaired by the Lin Kuei. However, he appeared somehow different than when first constructed. The short-handed clan again sent Cyrax into battle with his fellow cyborg Sektor assigned to monitor him.
After Shinnok's defeat, it became apparent that Cyrax had begun to experience flashbacks of his former life. Special agents Sonya Blade and Jax Briggs brought him to the Outer World Investigation Agency (OIA) headquarters and used its technology to restore his humanity. Grateful for their help, Cyrax joined the OIA as a scout in the realm of Outworld.

MK info: Smoke

SMOKE

Appearances: Mortal Kombat II, Mortal Kombat 3/UMK3/Mortal Kombat Trilogy, MK: Deception/MK: Unchained (as Noob-Smoke), MK: Armageddon
Realm of Origin: Earthrealm
Species: Cyborg (formerly Human)
Alignment: Good (forced into Evil)
Fighting styles:
Mi Tzu (MK:D, MK:A)

Judo (MK:A)
Weapons:
Axe (UMK3, MKT)

A former member of the Lin Kuei clan and a longtime friend of younger Sub-Zero, Smoke debuted in Mortal Kombat II as a hidden character to fight against. He was often spotted in the Living Forest stage in which he (along with Jade) peeked out of the trees. Like Reptile when he made his appearance, he was simply a grey clad version of Scorpion who moved extremely fast, and puffs of smoke emitted from his body. He would appear randomly before matches, offering clues that would enable the player to fight him, as Reptile had in the original Mortal Kombat.
Smoke accompanied Sub-Zero to Outworld on his mission to kill Shang Tsung, a mission that they could not accomplish. When Sub-Zero and Smoke returned to the Lin Kuei, they discovered that their clan had chosen to transform their best warriors into cyborgs, already performing the procedure on Sektor and Cyrax. Smoke and Sub-Zero turned on their clan and fled. Sub-Zero managed to escape, but Smoke was captured and converted into a cybernetic warrior, designated LK-7T2. Under the programming of the Lin Kuei, Smoke was forced to hunt his old friend. In this appearance, he was (and continues to be) a tortured, human soul trapped in the body of a cyborg. His most defining feature is the fact that he constantly seems to emit a smoke or vapor. This, combined with his power to teleport and turn invisible, once made him one of the Lin Kuei's top assassins.
During the events of
Mortal Kombat Trilogy and Shao Kahn's invasion of Earth, Smoke's fortunes continued to fail him. Although he discovered, with Sub-Zero's help, that he still retained his soul and was in fact one of Raiden's Chosen warriors and aided Sub-Zero in defeating Cyrax and Sektor, he was captured by Kahn's forces. The inert Smoke was transported to Outworld as a trophy and was locked away in the bowels of Kahn's fortress.
Nearly a decade later, however, he was discovered by
Noob Saibot. He reactivated the cyborg, whose nanotechnology set about repairing and improving his systems. Reprogramming Smoke to obey only him, Saibot turned the cyber-ninja into both his ally and template for a future army of cyber-demons that was to rise from the Netherealm. Although Ashrah's ending depicted Smoke's innate goodness battling his cyborg programming, Smoke remained paired with Noob until the next game.

SIGNATURE MOVES

Spear
In his human form, Smoke would send out a rope tipped with a Kunai at the end to impale the victim and pull them through the air towards him for a free hit and would cause minor damage, identical to Scorpion's version. In his cyborg form, Smoke would catapult a trident-like spear from his chest rather than his arm. (MKII, MK3, UMK3, MKT)
Teleport Uppercut / Smokeycut
Smoke would go underground and then reappear under the opponent's chin, hitting them on the way. (all games)
Air Throw

While in the air, Smoke could grab the opponent and throw them back on the ground. (MK3, UMK3, MKT)
Invisibility
Smoke disappears while a puff of smoke helps him become invisible. (MK3, UMK3, MKT)
Stinky Cloud
Smoke dodges back, leaving a cloud of black smoke in his former position, which chokes the opponent if they get caught in it. (MK:D, MK:A)
Stinky Fingers
Smoke waves his hands and a cloud of smoke is summoned a sweep away, which chokes the opponent if they are in its path. (MK:A)
Play Dead
Smoke falls flat on his back and vanishes in a puff of smoke then reappears behind the opponent. (MK:A)
Robo-Punch
Smoke dashes forward doing a straight punch. He did this move together with Noob Saibot in Mortal Kombat: Deception, as a part of Noob-Smoke. (MK:A)
