Star Wars Clone Wars data 2: Anakin Skywalker

ANAKIN SKYWALKER

Anakin Skywalker is a protagonist and anti-hero of the Star Wars franchise. The original and prequel trilogies follow Anakin's rise as a vessel of The Force, his fall to the dark side, and his ultimate redemption. In the prequel films, Anakin is a child prodigy whose Force potential was discovered by Qui-Gon Jinn, and he was accepted into the Jedi Order as a Jedi Padawan to Obi-Wan Kenobi, and later became a Jedi Knight of legend. He was thought to be the "Chosen One" of Jedi prophecy, one who would bring balance to the Force.

CLONE WARS TIMELINE

At the time of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Anakin was promoted to Knighthood, following his heroic actions at the Battle of Praesitlyn. Anakin fought alongside Obi-Wan against the forces of Separatist General Whorm Loathsom on the planet Christophsis. While Obi-Wan and Cody drew the droids' attention, Anakin, Rex and Torrent Company took out the tri-droids. This forced Loathsom to retreat. Then a shuttle arrived with a young Togruta Jedi named Ahsoka Tano. She had a message from the Jedi Council, and had been assigned as Skywalker's new Padawan.

Unfortunately, Loathsom had activated an expanding deflector shield with his armies advancing behind it. Anakin and Ahsoka managed to sneak behind the shield by hiding beneath a box. After Ahsoka bumped into a droideka and alerted retail droids, they've destroyed the shield generator, allowing Republic artillery to finish off the droids. The Separatists on Christophsis then surrendered to Kenobi. Anakin and Ahsoka were reassigned on another vital mission - to rescue Jabba the Hutt's infant son Rotta from the planet Teth. Along with Captain Rex and Torrent Company, Skywalker scaled a high mesa under Separatist fire to reach a clifftop monastery. The pair escaped from Asajj Ventress, who had been holding the Huttling captive, and returned Rotta to Tatooine. The pair split up, with Anakin acting as a decoy for his young apprentice. Dooku, who had been negotiating with Jabba, intercepted Anakin and sent droids to intercept Ahsoka so that they would not be able to reach the Hutt and reveal Dooku's Sith deceptions.

After a short duel, Anakin stole Dooku's speeder and flew to Jabba's palace to save Ahsoka from his wrath. While Jabba was pleased to see his son returned, he still ordered both Tano and Skywalker to be killed. The intervention of Senator Amidala, who had found that Dooku had been working with Jabba's uncle Ziro, saved the negotiations. Furious that Dooku had deceived him, Jabba permitted the Republic to use Hutt hyperspace routes into the Outer Rim.

AFTERMATH
Anakin soon fell to the dark side of the Force, after havng killed Count Dooku in cold blood after a duel aboard the Invisible Hand. Later on Palpatine revealed to Anakin that he was the Sith Lord known as Darth Sidious, and gave him a proposal to join him if he wants to gain more power and learn the knowledge to prevent his wife Padme from dying. Anakin made the fateful decision by helping Palpatine defeat Mace Windu, and then pledged himself to the ways of the Sith. Anakin was re-christened Darth Vader, and his first mission was to lead the 501st legion of clone troopers to exterminate the Jedi in the Temple.

Afterwards, he flew to the planet Mustafar to wipe out the Separatist Council in order to mark the end of the war, while Palpatine re-established the Old Republic into the first Galactic Empire. Vader jumped to the worst of conclusions when he suspected Padme of betraying him by 'bringing along Obi-Wan to kill him', and gave her a Force choke before engaging in fierce battle against his former Master Obi-Wan. Vader's arrogance led to his downfall as Obi-Wan sliced off his remaining appendages, and Vader was nearly burnt alive on the shores of the lava rivers. Palpatine recovered Vader's burnt body and transported it back to Coruscant, where he would be refitted within a life support system and nightmarish armor. Upon learning that he had killed Padme in his anger, Vader broke free from his restraints and cried out in anguish and remorse, renouncing his former identity soon after. He then became the Emperor's right-hand man, and a high-ranking commander of the Imperial army.

Vader would only reclaim his humanity 23 years later during the closing moments of the Galactic Civil War with the help of his son Luke Skywalker, and fulfilled the prophecy by eliminating Emperor Palaptine, before becoming one with the Force.
