Star Wars Clone Wars data 1: Obi-Wan Kenobi

OBI-WAN KENOBI

Obi-Wan Kenobi is one of the protagonists in the Star Wars film series. He is one of only four major characters to appear in all 6 live action films (in one way or the other). He is one of the greatest Jedi Knights to ever fight in the Clone Wars, and is best known as the mentor of Anakin Skywalker, and later on in life he would tutor Anakin's son Luke in the ways of the Force.

At the time of "Star Wars: The Clone Wars", Obi-Wan had already been promoted to Jedi Master status, following the successful Knighting of his former apprentice Anakin. The two of them led Torrent Company and Ghost Squadron with Captain Rex and Commander Cody on the planet Christophsis. After a furious battle, his former apprentice wiped out the tri-droids with Rex and the cannons took charge of the rest of the troops. The army retreated under General Whorm Loathsom's order. Following this, a ship arrived, carrying what was assumed to be Obi-Wan's next apprentice. However, it turned out that the Padawan named Ahsoka Tano was assigned to be Anakin's Padawan, not Obi-Wan's.

Soon after this Rex discovered that the Separatists had a deflector shield and the battle was reignited. While Anakin and Ahsoka set off to deactivate the shield, the Republic clonetroopers were outnumbered easily, and their cannons could not get through the shield, even at full-power. Within minutes there was a limited amount of clones, and Obi-Wan was surrounded by Whorm and his battle droids. He surrended, but was able to stall Whorm and eventually ring him by the neck threatening to kill him.

Skywalker and Tano were able to deactivate the shield and the battle became a Republic victory. Afterward, Master Yoda informed the Jedi that the Republic had been contacted by Jabba Desilijic Tiure, as he was willing to ally himself with them, should they locate and rescue his kidnapped son.

Yoda ordered Obi-Wan to go to Tatooine, so as to negotiate safe travel for Republic ships through Hutt Space, while Anakin and Ashoka sought out Jabba's son. Obi-Wan reluctantly began negotiations with the crimelord and was present when Jabba learnt that the bounty hunters he had sent to search for his son had returned without their bodies; Jabba then promised hyperspace routes in his territories for the Republic in exchange for his retrieved son. Obi-Wan reported this information to Anakin, who was on his way to Teth where Jabba's son had been located, before informing Yoda and Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. It was suspected that the kidnapping was a Separatist plot, which aimed to turn Jabba against the Republic.

Obi-Wan arrived on Teth immediately, and found Rex and the army heavily outnumbered by battle droids. With his reinforcements, the battle was then even again while he went to search for Anakin, R2-D2 and Ahsoka. Unfortunately, he ran into Asajj Ventress whom he battled through the B'omarr Monastery. Eventually slicing through her saberstaff and throwing away one half, she gave up and called for a Vulture droid to rescue her.
Returning to his troops, he later learnt that Anakin had taken a B-Wing-like ship called the Twilight and had flown to Tatooine where he and Ahsoka had battled Dooku and IG-100 MagnaGuards, before giving Jabba's son back to him. After fending off the droids, he and Yoda took gunships to pick up the Jedi team, and Jabba confirmed passage through his routes.

AFTERMATH
Obi-Wan was soon granted a seat in the Jedi Council, but little did he know that the darkest times were about to come. By the end of the Clone Wars, while Obi-Wan battled (and defeated) General Grievous in Utapau, his friend Anakin had fallen to the dark side of the Force and become Darth Vader. Obi-Wan bested Anakin in combat on the fiery planet of Mustafar, and assisted Padme Amidala in delivering the Skywalker twins, Luke and Leia. Afterwards, Obi-Wan opted to be transported to Tatooine, where he handed the infant Luke to Anakin's stepbrother Owen Lars and his wife Beru, and then watch over him from the Jundland Wastes.

At the start of the Galactic Civil War, Obi-Wan saved Luke from Tusken Raiders and later revealed his knowledge of the Force and his participation in past galactic events, such as The Clone Wars. Obi-Wan and Luke, along with the droids C-3PO and R2-D2, make their way to Mos Eisley, to buy passage to Alderaan on the Millennium Falcon, a spaceship owned by Han Solo and his first mate, Chewbacca. However, before they could reach Alderaan, it was already destroyed by the Death Star on the orders of Grand Moff Tarkin. It was aboard the Falcon that Obi-Wan began teaching Luke some basic lightsaber lessons. After the characters initially mistook the massive Death Star for a moon, The Millennium Falcon was captured by the enormous space station's tractor beam.

After their capture, Obi-Wan sneaked into the core of the Death Star and disabled the tractor beam so that the Falcon can escape with the rescued Princess Leia. Obi-Wan then confronted Darth Vader in a lightsaber duel, 19 years after their last duel on Mustafar. As Luke and the others make a run for the Falcon, Obi-Wan sacrificed himself to Vader, his body disappearing entirely just as Vader's blade passed through his robe. Within the next 4 years, Obi-Wan would continue to guide and counsel Luke in his spectral form. The spectral forms of Obi-Wan, Yoda and the redeemed Anakin were seen watching over the Rebels on the forest moon of Endor, following their victory over the Empire.
